The pattern is the point

Most bedding asks you to choose a colour. Ours asks you to choose a picture: a rose in full bloom, a bear in a pine wood, a night sky, a run of painted tile. Every design in this catalogue is listed with the sizes it comes in, the fabric it is printed on and the price we last confirmed.

The same print is often made as a comforter set, a duvet cover and a quilt. They are different objects, and the guide below says how.

05 · How the print survives the wash

Reactive printing, not a surface coat

A pigment print sits on top of the cloth and sands off a little with every cycle. Reactive dye forms a chemical bond with the fibre itself, so the colour is part of the fabric rather than a layer on it. That is the difference between a print that fades to a ghost by the second summer and one that still reads at year five.

It also changes how the fabric feels. Because nothing is sitting on the surface, a reactive-printed microfibre stays soft where a heavy pigment print would go stiff and slightly plastic. The trade is at the extremes: reactive colours are truer in mid-tones than in fluorescents, so this catalogue leans on deep roses, inks and greens rather than neon.

07 · Care, stated plainly

Wash it cold, dry it low, skip the bleach

Printed bedding fails in three ways: hot water opens the fibre and lets colour walk, chlorine bleach attacks the dye directly, and a hot dryer bakes in creases the iron then has to fight. Cold wash, gentle cycle, low tumble, no bleach — that single line covers almost everything in this catalogue.

The label sewn into your set is the instruction that counts. Under US law that tag has to survive the useful life of the product and its maker has to hold a reasonable basis for what it claims, so we point you at it rather than at our own paraphrase.

Children’s rooms, weddings, and the week before Valentine’s

836 designs here are drawn for a child’s room, and a good part of the rest exists for an occasion. Both come with something worth reading first.

Quilts and comforters belong outside an infant’s sleep area entirely.

What this catalogue promises

Every price on this site carries the date we last updated it, and a design we have not priced in the current update says so rather than showing a stale number. Nothing is hidden because it went out of stock — a catalogue that only lists what is buyable today is an advert, not a reference.

Ratings are shown as pools with their counts, because 4.6 from nine buyers and 4.6 from nine hundred are different facts wearing the same number. We do not write reviews, quote reviews as if they were our own testing, or reorder a page to bury a weak one.

12 · Asked often

Questions, answered plainly

Does a duvet cover set come with the filling?

No. A duvet cover is a case for an insert you already own, so it is lighter to wash and cheaper to swap. Every cover page on this site states it, and the fill and fit guide covers matching the insert size.

What is the difference between a comforter and a quilt?

A comforter is filled and warm and arrives ready for the bed. A quilt is thin, stitched through in layers, and works as a summer cover or as a layer over a comforter. The forms guide sets both out beside the duvet cover.

Will the print fade in the wash?

These designs are reactive-printed, meaning the dye bonds with the fibre rather than sitting on the surface, so colour survives repeated washing far better than a pigment print. Cold water, no chlorine bleach and a low tumble are what keep it that way.

Which size should I buy?

Match the mattress, not the frame, and remember a comforter is cut wider so it drapes. If your mattress is deeper than about twelve inches or you use a topper, size up. The size guide has the table.

Is this bedding safe for a baby’s crib?

No. Paediatric guidance keeps quilts, comforters, pillows, loose blankets and non-fitted sheets out of an infant’s sleep area entirely, because of entrapment and suffocation risk. Our kids’ rooms page cites the guidance in full.

Printed comforter sets, duvet covers and quilts

A comforter set arrives filled and ready for the bed. A duvet cover is a case you slide your own insert into, which makes it lighter to wash and cheaper to change when you tire of the picture. A quilt is thinner than either, stitched through in layers, and works as a summer cover or a layer over a comforter in winter. The same Erosebridal print often exists in all three, so the choice is about weight and laundry rather than looks.

Sizes, inserts and the fit that actually matters

US bedding sizes describe the mattress, not the bed, and a comforter is cut wider than the mattress so it drapes. That overhang is the number people get wrong: a twin comforter on a full mattress leaves the sides bare no matter how good the print is. Our size guide lists the finished dimensions we publish for each set, and the fill-and-fit page covers duvet inserts, corner ties and why a cover one size up is a mistake rather than a safety margin.
